This is an original Egg Chair and Ottoman, initially designed by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen in 1959. This set dates to 1993 and was produced in Denmark. It features an aluminum four-point swivel base and retains its original black fabric upholstery. The base sports a full 360-degree swivel. It is truly the quintessential Danish lounge set.
The chair measures 32 inches deep, 34 inches wide and is 41 inches high. It has a seat height of 15 inches. The ottoman measures 16 inches deep, 22 inches wide, and 14.5 inches tall. While the set dates to 1993, it remains in excellent condition. The foam is in super shape and the upholstery shows only minimal signs of use. Please see photos. The previous owner noted that it was somewhat recently reupholstered by a master upholsterer, who trained with Fritz Hansen in Denmark.
